Harbor [?] Bros. of Swanley: Ballast Pit, to east of Mallinson's Plywood works near railway bridge, c100 yards east of railway bridge on Dartford-Erith road. c1945 worked out, but previously, remains of extensive cremation cemetery, E.I.A. or R.B., also under council estate on other side of road. (1) [Area TQ 53407525] No finds from this site in Dartford Museum. The site is now waste land, the gravel pits have been almost filled by tipping of rubbish. Area sited to gravel pits and council houses on opposite side of road. [See also TQ 57 NW 25] (2) Mr. P. J. Tester knows this pit well but has no knowledge of this cemetery. He has no reason to doubt its authenticity. (3)
