Former wooden fisherman's cottage purchased by Derek Jarman in 1986 and his home until his death in 1995. The cottage is renowned for its garden; in the flat expanse of shingle at Dungeness Jarman developed a garden combining the areas indigenous plants with flints and sculptures made from stones, old tools and found objects, together with introduced flowers and shrubs.

[TR 092178] Prospect Cottage is a weatherboarded wooden fisherman's cottage which was purchased by the artist Derek Jarman in 1986 and became his home until his death in 1995. The cottage is chiefly renowned for its garden; in the flat, bleak expanse of shingle at Dungeness Jarman developed a garden combining the areas indigenous plants with flints, shells, driftwood and sculptures made from stones, old tools and found objects, together with introduced flowers and shrubs.
