Full Description

The former site of four concrete emplacements forming a Cold War anti-aircraft site at Shoreham. They were probably equipped with 3.7 inch guns. Each consists of a walled octagonal area with four structures within, most likely ammunition stores, with one square structure on the outside. The emplacements were reached by an access road and had a number of associated structures on the same site at some distance to the emplacements.

Most likely an Igloo 1 site, built after the Second World War but before the demise of anti-aircraft artillery as a defence system in 1956. The site is not visible on aerial photos of the area taken in 1946 but appears, perhaps disused, on aerial photos of 1961.
