Full Description
In 2011 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an evaluation in the grounds of the former Royal Oak public house. No features were found but two sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from the stripped ground around the trenches. Both are of typical medieval sandy-ware, probably produced at Tyler Hill near Canterbury. The wall sherd also has occasional small shell inclusions within its fabric. The rim is from a large flanged rim vessel, probably of fourteenth-century date. (1)
