Full Description
Former site of Home Farm, or South Frith, a post-medieval farm complex. The farmhouse and some associated buildings are shown on the Ordnance Survey drawing of 1799. More buildings are shown from the 1st edition onwards (mid 19th century) when the farmyard had evidently developed with the addition of barns and an oast. It was demolished in the second half of the 20th century, before 1990, with the site fully cleared shortly thereafter.
The site is also thought to be the location of a Tudor hunting lodge and medieval pottery has been recorded on the surface. (1)
