Full Description
A cropmark of a rectangular structure, c.60m in length and c.13m in width, is visible in aerial photos of 2007.
Extensive Roman settlement with residual prehistoric material excavated on the line of the A257 Ash By-Pass, following an earlier evaluation. A cremation cemetery (15 cremations and a single inhumation), flanked a minor Roman road, associated with a probable farmstead. Three wells were recorded. A 2nd/3rd century AD date is suggested. Early Mediaeval pottery was also found on the site.
