Full Description
During a watching brief in 2005 a number of 15th to 17th century deposits were encountered adjacent to the stream. The latest of these was a cobbled surface that may have been hardstanding for loading and unloading of small boats at the waters edge. The earlier dumps may have resulted from dredging operations whilst the later was a foundation for the cobbled surface. It appears that the hardstanding went out of use after the early 18th century.
