Full Description
Roman pottery was collected from the surface of a field to the south of the railway in Lenham, in 1984 by Andrew Oxford ("local school master") and in 1986 by Brian Philp. The total collection was "about 50 potsherds and several fragments of Roman tile over and area of about 80 by 50m". (1) The pottery is said to be of 2nd or 3rd century date and to have included some fragments of mortaria.
