Full Description
A number of cannon balls are reported to have been found at the top of St Helens Lane. Information from the Farleigh History Society described them as stone balls about three inches (7.5cm) in diameter plus a smaller one, found at a depth of one foot. It is possible that these finds relate to a Civil War skirmish in this location in the run up to the Battle of Maidstone in 1648. (1)
