Full Description
A possible ring ditch visible as a cropmark in aerial photos of 1990 to the north of Grain. It is 24m across and consists of a singular circular ditch, however the western side of this is not visible.
There is another ring ditch to the north east.
Might be a natural geological feature.
An incomplete ring ditch, possibly a Bronze Age round barrow with a diameter of 25.5m seen at TQ 8873 7664 at the western edge of the playing fields of Grain Primary School. The south-western half of the enclosure is truncated by Green Lane. There is a hint of a possible outer ditch visible on the eastern side of the main ring ditch. This site was seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 1985 and was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(2)
