Summary

An incomplete sub-circular ring ditch, possibly a Bronze Age round barrow, measuring 21m across was seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 1990 prior to destruction of the site through gravel extraction. This is one of a group of three adjacent ring ditches of varying size which were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description

A ring ditch visible as cropmarks in aerial photos of 1990 to the north west of Grain. It is 22m across and consists of a singular circular ditch with no interruption.(1)

An incomplete sub-circular ring ditch, possibly a Bronze Age round barrow, measuring 21m across was seen at TQ 8807 7670 as a cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 1990 prior to destruction of the site through gravel extraction.
