Full Description
A desk based assessment on Lullingstine Park identified a bomb crater at Ashen Bank. Three more were found; one at Lower Beecham Wood and two at Home Wood. The most likely reason for the bomb craters being here is because during the Second World War Lullingstone Park was requisitioned in 1940 and was used as a bombing decoy, establishing a dummy airfield within the park.
