Full Description

A desk based assessment on Lullingstine Park identified a bomb crater in Lullingstone Park at Lower Beecham Wood. Three more were found; one at Ashen Bank and two at Home Wood. The most likely reason for the bomb crater being here is because during the Second World War Lullingstone Park was requisitioned in 1940 and was used as a bombing decoy, establishing a dummy airfield within the park.
