Full Description
[TR 3654 6922] Cropmark of possible barrow. (1)
Possible extractive pit near Updown Farm, Margate. Idenitifed from aerial photographs: CUCAP BTG84 26-JUN-1975 mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. This site was mapped as part of an earlier survey RCHME Kent NMP project undertaken in the late 1980s. This survey was hand drawn and sketch-mapped. N.B. It is likely that this particular feature has been misidentified as a mound where the loose stipple for a large macula cropmarks has been mistaken for the compact stipple used for positive features such as banks and mounds.
