Full Description
Watching brief undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust in 2005 during the renovation of Rendezvous Street, Folkestone. Brick walls and a succession of clay floors were found. These indicate a terrace of four tenement houses (part of a longer terrace). The latest floor layers date to the mid C17 to mid C18. Wooden floors were added in all of the buildings in the mid-late C18. The buildings were demolished in the mid C19 during street widening. (1)
