Findspot record TR 36 NE 188 - Mesolithic and Neolithic flint tool findspots, Westwood, Broadstairs

Summary

Mesolithic and Neolithic flint tools were found in Westwood, Broadstairs. A number of worked flints including scrapers and arrow heads were found in roadwork pits and in gardens. The scatter is thought to indicate an extensive occupation site. Prehistoric pottery may also have been found in this area.

Full Description

TR 364680. Mesolithic and Neolithic tools. Roadworks in front of Rediffusion building, gardens in Star Lane and gardens fronting Ramsgate Road, Margate have yielded quantities of Mesolithic and Neolithic worked flints including scrapers and arrow heads. The scatter indicates an extensive occupation site. (1)
