Full Description
TR 364653. Cropmarks of barrows and field boundary systems. Aerial photographs taken in the 1960s before this area was built up show linear cropmarks suggestive of round barrows, field boundary systems, prehistoric farmstead boundary ditches and possibly buildings. There were persistant reports by building workers and the public of burials and building remains being encountered during development work on the site in the 1970s. (1) Field system centred on TR 3644 6529, with linear features continuing to area of ring ditches at TR 3633 6532 and TR 3632 6542. Field system connects with square enclosure at TR 3633 6520. This is adjacent to ring ditches (one broken with a central pit) and other pits. (see TR 36 NE 40 also) Further linear features at TR 3651 6512. Visible on RCHME AP. (2)
