Full Description

In 1991 field walking was carried out for an assessment of the route of the A260 Hawkinge to Denton by-pass. A Medieval pottery sherd was found, abraded and residual. This was a jug handle in sandy fabric with stabbed decoration of 14th-15th century date of East Wealden ware or a product of Potters Corner, Ashford. (1)

In 1992 an evaluation conducted by Canterbury Archaeological Trust took place on route of the Denton Hawkinge bypass. Some pottery was found but was undated. (2)
