Monument record TR 36 NW 32 - Roman burials found in Westgate-on-sea, Margate

Summary

Roman pottery, including Samian was found with skeletons in 1865-8 in Hundred's Brickfields, Westgate-on-Sea. Other finds included two bronze vases and four black vases. Hatton House is now St. Ursuline's Convent where Roman cremations were found 1876-80 (see TR 36 NW 2). Neolithic and other Roman burials were discovered here in the 19th century.
