Full Description
TR 341654: The ring ditch of a barrow was examined in March 1944 afterit had been three-quarters destroyed. It comprised a v-shaped ditch, a little over 3 feet deep and averaging 5 feet 6 inches in width, enclosing a circular area about 70 feet in diameter. A primary burial, probably E.B.A., and a secondary, presumably of a child, were seen but no grave goods were found. The barrow lay on the higher eastern part of the Thanet backbone ridge at a height of about 150 feet OD. (1) The site of this barrow, lies under a runway of Manston Aerodrome.
