In 1998 Pre-Construct Archaeology carried out an evaluation and then expanded two of these trenches to conduct an excavation. A post hole packed with burnt flint, suggesting a prehistoric date, as well as a second post hole and a possible ring ditch were found. None of these features produced any diagnostic or datable material but a small assemblage of residual worked flint collected from later features and the ploughsoil suggests Late Bronze Age activity in the area and perhaps a date for these features.
