Full Description

In 1992 a Phase 2 evaluation was carried out south-east of Brambles Farm by Canterbury Archaeological Trust. A significant amount of Tyler Hill sandy ware was found in field 294 and was widely distributed across the whole field. This is dated 1200-1300/25 AD. Shell filled and grit and shell filled sandy ware was also present and abundant, though not as much as Tyler Hill sandy ware was, this dates to 1125-1225 AD. One piece of Canterbury sandy ware was found and this has the date of 1075-1175 AD. (1)
