Full Description
In 1993 a desk based assessment was done by Canterbury Archaeological Trust on an areas for a wastewater treatment scheme near Herne Bay. A site thought to be a Saxon cemetery was observed. (1)
Presumably the assumption of a cemetery is derived from the Saxon sword pommel and shield bosses found in the vicinity, but the location of these finds is uncertain.
