Full Description
In 1994 an evaluation was undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust at the proposed site of Oasis Holiday Village, West Wood, Lyminge. A Iron Age pot was found in test pit and was noted because it was isolated. Originally it was thought to be an inverted Bronze Age cremation urn but no evidence of burning or bone or a pit. Since the vessel is so unusual a provisional date has been given as mid 1st century BC. Not intacted in situ. (1)
