Full Description

A small scale excavation was carried out in a garden at the top of the east side of the Westbrook valley, at a point where two Bronze Age scrapers had been found on the surface during a casual visit in 2009. The excavation was part of a research project being carried out in the Ospringe area by the Faversham Society Archaeological Research Group into prehistoric and early medieval human activity. The top layer, down to around 30cm, yielded five more small scrapers, a core and abundant waste flakes. This implies manufacturing activity at this high point overlooking the valley. (1)
