In 1995 a metal detecting survey was carried out before evaluation and bore holing at Ebbsfeet Farm in anticipation of work on the Weatherlees Hill Waste Treatment Works. A small Late Bronze Age hoard, termed 'Ebbsfleet III' was found at TR 3320 6300. No stratigraphy was observed and it was established that perhaps from ploughing that the object had be distributed across the site. The site was excavated to extracted the hoard and no other signals were received by the metal detectors post-excavation. No cultural material was found during the process. They may be a remnant of Ebbsfleet I hoard. (1)

All 5 objects thought to be of cast bronze. The first is a sword fragment comprising of the lower part of the cast hilt with concave sides and eroded beak like shoulders. It is of a Carp's Tongue type. The upper blade is parallel sided with a rounded midrib flaked by a groove each sidwe which continues to the hilt. The second is a socketed hammer. The rounded cross-section of the body has flat sides, one of which bears distinct oblique casting flash. The third is a cylindrical and with thin walls and apparently filled with granular corrosion products. The two opposing faces have been flattened. It may be part of a socket or small tool or weapon. The fouth is an ingot fragment with unshaped rounded edges and pointed at one end. The final is a bun ingot fragment with a plano-convex and contains many vesicles (1)
