Full Description
In 1995 some supplementary field walking was carried out by Wessex Archaeology along the route of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Flints scatters here were low desity and patchy but they were only group to be associated with prehistoric activity. An unfinished leaf-shaped arrowhead a neatly retouched scraper and a blade like flake would suggest earlier Neolithic date for this sactter. At Sevington nine sherds of flint tempered pottery was found. They were considered to be earlier than Middle Iron Age. In all 19 prehistoric sherds were found but they were low density scatters. The scatter at Sevington suggested possible activity associated with this area. (1)
