Full Description
In 1996 Canterbury Archaeological Trust conducted an evaluation on the land adjoining Faversham Road/ Ladysmith grove. They found evidence of a medieval sea defence aligned north-east to south-west to prevent inundation from the Seasalter Levels. 40 late medieval sherds of pottery circa 1475/1550 were found at a depth of 40cm, also earlier medieval pottery was found circa 1250/1350.
