Full Description
In 1997 a watching brief was carried out by RPS and found two mammoth tusks and a woolly rhino tooth in an infilled Last Glacial fluvial channel at Swalecliffe Waste Water Treament Works (1-2). This was followed by further fieldwork (3, 4) leading to recovery of diverse palaeo-environmental remains (molluscs, small vertebrates, insects and ostracods).
