Full Description
In 1980 an excavation was carried out as the Mid-Kent Training School by KARU. The site is said to have covered 5 acres and consisted of quarried areas with patches of metalling and large quantities of 2nd century domestic refuse. The remains of a large wooden post-built structure were found on the east of the site 'about 200 metres from the Romano-British burial-group found in 1978'. Ten major post holes, a storage jar set into the ground and a rammed floor were found. No further details. (1)
