Full Description
The Appledore-Stone ferry crossed the water between the two villages. The Stone ferry departure point is in the area of Ferry Farm, Ferry Inn and Ferry Cottage, to the south of Reading Sewer. The Appledore ferry was thought to have been closer to Appledore further downstream but the concentration of finds on the high ground immediately north of the Stone ferry suggests otherwise. (1)
