Full Description

In 2011 Archaeology South-East carried out work ahead of a quarry extension. Ten worked flints were collected from the surface of a Head Deposit. One showed clear bifacial working which could represent an attempt at the manufacture of a small handaxe, abandoned at an early stage. It does not appear to be of later flint working industries and so tentatively dates the activity to the Palaeolithic. (1)
