Full Description
In 2008 Pre-Construct Archaeology conducted a programme of works at the Friars School, Great Chart. Across the site a collection of flints was recovered from later features. These evidence activity in the area from the later Mesolithic through to the later Bronze Age. Mesolithic finds include a tranchet axe/adze and a micro-burin but there are also a significant number of blade-like flakes and blade cores indicating Mesolithic or Early Neolithic activity. The majority of the recovered flint was of more Neolithic and Bronze Age character with a few identifiable tools amongst the flakes. (1)
