Site identified during transcription of features recorded on air photographs. (1)

A rectangular probable (Iron Age, Roman or medieval in date) settlement enclosure visible as a cropmark near Quex Park identified from aerial photographs :CUCAP BXA36 04-JUN-1976 and Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007. It measures 82.5m x 72.5m, is defined by a ditch with straight sides, angled corners, an entrance in the east side and traces of sub-divisions or an internal enclosure. Within the centre is a large sub-rectangular hollow visible as an earthwork detected on LIDAR Environment Agency DSM 07-DEC-2017. The site was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024.(2-4)
