TR 33596752 - possible barrow site. (1,2)

The above feature was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the RCHME Kent NMP in the late 1990s. This area has now been re-surveyed from aerial photographs NMR 962/95 09-JUL-1976 for the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. This new survey notes the cropmarks of a large sub-circular former extractive pit of probable post medieval date visible adjacent to this RCHME feature. This is also visble as a slight earthwork depression on Lidar. It is possible that these are the same features. A second smaller pit was also visible to the north-east which was visible as a slight earthwork on Lidar (3-4)
