Full Description
[TQ 5602 7007] Long Oo 14' 37", Lat. 51o 24' 7", A skeleton with Upchurch pottery, A.S.200-50, and fragments of cleft timber, suggesting a coffined burial were discovered in May 1937, in gravel workings (Bowen's Pit (1), about 3/8 mile S.E. of Sutton-at-Hone Church (2) Bowen's Pit ceased working about 1954 and the pit is now water filled. (3)
