TR 303677. Cropmarks of ring and curvilinear ditches. Two kinds of cropmark can be observed. a) Ring ditches, presumably ploughed-off Bronze Age round barrows. b) Curvilinear ditches that may be associated with the barrows or maybe of later date, i.e. Bronze Age or Iron Age farm enclosure or field system. (1) RCHME AP shows curvilinear enclosure at TR 3030 6775, 2 conjoined curvilinear enclosures at TR 3021 6777, linear feature at TR 3020 6783, staple enclosure with linear features at TR 3011 6773. (2)

The fragmented cropmark remains of a possible Bronze Age or Iron Age settlement and associated fragmented boundaries visible on a wide range of aerial photographs (see sources 3-10). The enclosures are randomly scattered and appear sub-rectangular and ditch-defined. Two are paired and they are typically c.20m across. The settlement may be associated with the long linear boundary (TR 36 NW 165) immediately to the south which has a funnel entrance opening onto the SW edge of this enclosure group. These features have been mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. (3-10)
