Full Description

In 2006 Oxford Archaeology carried out work at the site. Eight inhumation graves were found arranged around the end of a major Iron Age boundary ditch. One grave contained remains of a coffined and two accompanying vessels of 1st to 3rd century AD date. No other such vessels were found with the other burials though two inhumations had been accompanied by hobnailed footwear whilst a third had been buried wearing such shoes. The burials included a triple inhumation. (1)
