Full Description

In 2007 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out a programme of works. A large number of worked flints were found in colluvial layers. This material was of Neolithic date and likely derived from nearby occupation, most likely to the south-west. Two blade cores of probable Early Neolithic date were found and there were several Late Neolithic flints. Early Bronze Age material was also found in similar secondary deposits. Again, this indicates settlement of this period in the vicinity. (1-2)
