Between 2005 and 2007 numerous investigations of the East Court and Stable Yard at Cobham Hall, by Alan Ward and Archaeology South-East, found remains of brick-built buildings. These probably date from the 15th century onwards and represent the immediate predecessor of the current Cobham Hall, built in the 16th century. A possible earlier (14th or even 13th century) timber phase was posited but not demonstrated. The full extent of the brick structures was also not determined but they extend in all directions and under standing buildings. (1-3)
