Full Description
Rectilinear feature and linear features visible as cropmarks in Google Earth image 2007, to the north of St Nicholas at Wade. The rectilinear feature consists of a rectangle and is roughly 7m by 12m. It is situated between the two linear features. The linear features are two non-parallel straight lines, that appear to form part of a trapezoid. They are 72m and 103m long respectively. It has been suggested that features once formed some kind of building, but this appears conjectural (1).
A small sub-rectangular dark cropmark suggesting a negative feature such as a pit was seen on Google Earth image 21-04-2007 in the approximate location of the feature described above. This lies close to the cropmark traces of two sets of Second World War zig-zag trenches which form the trapezoid shape also described above (1-2).
