In 1998 Museum of London Archaeology Service carried out an excavation as part of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project. A Middle Iron Age droveway with ditches to the north-west defining a discontinuous L-shaped boundary. A funnelled entrance lead into an enclosure and beside this were some four post structures, possible granaries. A large circular pit, 2.9m in diameter and in excess of 1.5m deep, may have been a well or deep quarry pit. A working hollow was also found. (1-3)
