Full Description

In 2003 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an evaluation (1). A postulated palaeo-landsurface surface was indentified in-section at the base of about 40cm of brickearth. This horizon produced common flint artefacts, all reported as in fresh condition and therefore minimally transported, comprising 18 flakes, a blade core, two scrapers and a small cordate handaxe of Mousterian appearance.(1)

May be same as 'upper palaeolithic flint core' recorded in Thanet SMR (TSMR689) (2)
