[TR 31076428] Human remains and a bell-shaped glass cup ornamented with vertical ribs were found in Minster Churchyard 7 feet from the surface. (1) According to the vicar of St Mary's, Minster, no burials have taken place in the graveyard for many years; and no further finds are known. (2) TR 310642 Inhumation of Anglo-Saxon date found in Minster Churchyard c1876. A glass bell-shaped vessel was found over the skull of a skeleton in a grave in Minster Churchyard c7 feet deep. The skeleton was said to be 8 feet long. The site is on low ground near Minster Marshes. (3) Bell-shaped vessel, discovered in Minster Churchyard, in the Isle of Thanet, placed on the skull of a skeleton, the mouth downwards. (4) Additional bibliography (not consulted).
