Full Description

The Holy Cross Convalescent Home for Girls was built between 1928 and 1930. It was run by a Roman Catholic order as both a convent and a convalescent home. The building was damaged during the Second World War when three bombs hit a wing in April 1943. The home became the Holy Cross Roman Catholic School in 1963. The Hereson School moved from Lillian Road to the building in 1999. The building was surveyed in 2008/9 prior to proposed demolition. (1-2)
