Full Description

In 2004 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an excavation at the former cattle market, Canterbury. Residual flints were recovered from a variety of later features with a small proportion found immediately above the surface of the Head Brickearth. 649 worked flints were recovered in total from the site. The material included Mesolithic, Neolithic and Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age pieces. (1)
The assemblage included a blade, a core, flakes and scrapers. (2)
