Full Description

The pumphouse was built in the early 19th century. It was functioning by autumn 1823 but the presence of a mortar and cement mill suggest that it may have been built earlier. It housed two 50 horse-power Boulton and Watt beam engines and a third, 14 horse-power engine, for the mill. (1)
