Full Description
In 2012 members of the Sandwich Sailing and Motor Boat Club lost an engine having struck an object in the channel across Pegwell Bay. Searching the area found a submerged obstruction and a large section of worked timber was lifted from this. The piece was described as a Deadwood, which helps connect keel to rudderpost. The wreck lies in an area outside of known earlier channels and at depth. (1)
In 2019 Historic England considered an application for designation as a Protected Wreck Site. However, Historic England concluded that there was insufficient evidence at this time to do so, the wreck having been covered since by shifting silts.
