Monument record TR 36 SW 72 - Dock remains, Minster

Summary

The remains of a dock system have been reported just to the south of the churchyard wall in Minster and also at Durlock. These docks are thought to be the remains of piers or quays built of heavy stone slabs with iron mooring rings. Reportedly sighted during work to lay pipes and cables in the area at a depth of 2m, they may also be part of a local oral tradition or legend. It is uncertain what period these features date from.
