Full Description
[TR 35147000]. The upper part of a probable La Tene I urn was found by Dr A Rowe on the site of the tennis courts at Tivoli Park, Margate "more than 5ft from the surface under two Roman and two Celtic horizons, sunk 10in in the underlying brick-earth". (1) Possibly the Roman and IA levels refer to the "pottery making site with potsherds of late Celtic and Roman date of all periods" reported near the Roman building site. (2) [See TR 37 SE 9]. There is no record of subsequent finds from this site, still tennis courts. (3) Additional reference (4)
